“We must come to the realization that only in true freedom can we experience the valuable privileges of a new identity and prosperity.” – Elder Helen Payne
For what reason do we spend our lives looking for freedom? Is it simply for the sake of being free? Many of us work toward this goal without truly understanding the benefits that come with it. We must come to the realization that only in true freedom can we experience the valuable privileges of a new identity and prosperity.
The first of these privileges is a new identity. Look at the difference between a slave and a free man; Furthermore, how the person in bondage carries ones self in comparison to one that is free. This is because of the difference in how they view themselves. In the same way, our freedom in God allows us to take on new identities like a conqueror, child of God, and a new creation with confidence to live, move, and operate in the fullness of your being in God, for whom the Son has set free is free indeed.
Again, let us look at the differences of a free man and the slave, there is an evident disparity in the quality of life for the slave. That is why it is important to remember the second benefit of freedom: prosperity. Addiction and bondage take more than just our freedom, they take our time, our energy and our money. But in God, in our freedom in Him, we are blessed in the city and the field, in our coming and going, and we are above only and not beneath. Take careful consideration of these benefits the next time you want to jeopardize losing the benefits of your freedom.
